Parul Sharma
Parul Sharma (born February 6, 1985) is a former beauty queen, singer, songwriter, philanthropist and social media heavyweight. She was crowned Miss India-Canada 2004,〔(Miss India-Canada )〕 where she performed her original song for the talent segment.
Sharma has worked with musicians including Juno Award winner Russell Broom and Luke McMaster. She has performed at venues including: Air Canada Centre, India’s largest night club (Club Elevate ), Hard Rock Cafe (Mumbai), Scotiabank Place, Civic Centre (Ottawa), Congress Centre (Ottawa), Lansdowne Park stadium, Yonge-Dundas Square and Ottawa City Hall. She was a headliner at ''desiFEST 2008'', North America's largest South Asian music festival, where she was introduced by Ian D'Sa of rock band, Billy Talent. She has sung the Canadian and American national anthems at large arena sporting events including for the Toronto Raptors.
Sharma has been featured in and interviewed by media including ''NDTV'' in India, ''Asian Television Network'', ''OMNI Television'', ''Rogers TV'', the ''Toronto Star'',〔Toronto Star, Jul 25, 2004, article titled ''Finding another use for beauty; Defying the trend, Canada's ethnic communities are throwing beauty pageants like never before 'They regard it as something ... that leads a person to bigger and better things,' writes Andrew Mills''〕 the''Ottawa Citizen'', the ''Hindustan Times'', ''The Times of India'', ''Maxim India (magazine)'', ''MSN India'' and a wide range of other print and online publications around the world. She has been the face of clothing brands ''Desiwear'' and ''Mausam''.
In the summer of 2009 she filmed TV ad for ''Fem Herbal'', which she appeared in with Bollywood actress Preity Zinta.
Sharma is also a human rights activist as per updates on her Twitter account. She is a committed volunteer for (IIMPACT ), an NGO dedicated to the basic primary education of the girl child in India’s backward rural areas. In 2009, she introduced (IIMPACT ) to musician Bryan Adams, who was moved by the cause and provided a grant through (The Bryan Adams Foundation ), which will school 600 children.

Sharma attended Seton Hall Law School.
